Hymnal of the New Apostolic Church (unanimous music edition)

The hymn book of the New Apostolic Church has been the official hymn book for the German-speaking area since the Easter service in the New Apostolic Church in 2005 . It replaced the New Apostolic Hymnbook from 1925 .

content

The hymn book of the New Apostolic Church, which was introduced in the German-speaking area at Easter 2005, contains 438 hymns from almost all epochs of spiritual songwriting. This means that it includes significantly fewer songs than its predecessor, the New Apostolic Hymn book in the 1925 edition. 90 songs were newly recorded and around 50 songs were stylistically reinterpreted.

expenditure

The hymn book is available as an edition for the congregation, which contains text and melody for each song. There is also an edition for four-part mixed choir, in which about 3/4 of the songs are four-part choral movements. A small, handy, pure text version has also existed since 2007.

The Friedrich Bischoff publishing house has published a two-volume organ book for the New Apostolic Church's hymn book. Volume 1 includes songs no. 1–220, volume 2 the songs from no. 221–438. There are two intonations for each song, a four-part and a three-part accompaniment. All accompanying movements are compatible with the four-part choral movements. The stipulation in both creation was that the accompanying movements had to be playable without a pedal and for laypeople. A small selection of simpler organ accompaniments has been published by Bischoff-Verlag for some movements, which nonetheless turned out to be too difficult for laypeople to play.
