The protected landscape component beech forest edge Ebershagen with 0.37  hectares is located northwest of Altastenberg in the urban area of Winterberg . The area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 2008 when the Winterberg landscape plan was drawn up by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis .

Area description

These are old, overgrown beeches, some of which are already breaking apart. The beeches are former hat trees as impressive evidence of former forest pastures. A forest spring rises here, the subsequent course of which runs along the entire western part of the protected area and is a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG . In the east of the LB there are wet areas with a species inventory typical of the location.
