Description in the landscape plan: “The landscape component is located west of Tückingstrasse at the foot of the Roderberg. It is the remaining steep face of a former brick slate quarry in the Hagen strata of the Upper Carboniferous with alternating layers of clay, alum, sand slate and greywacke as well as fossil finds from the Carboniferous. The noteworthy small folds, special saddles and hollows are tilted. A species-rich row of trees extends along the upper edge of the slope. "

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made "to ensure the efficiency of the natural balance by maintaining a habitat for heat-loving animal and plant species".
