Youhanna Nueir
Youhanna Nueir OFM (born August 28, 1914 in Al-Fayyūm , Egypt ; † August 13, 1995 ) was an Egyptian Coptic Catholic clergyman and bishop of Assiut .
Life
The ordination received Youhanna Nueir June 13 1943rd
He was elected titular bishop of Phatanus on December 8, 1955 and appointed auxiliary bishop in Luxor . He was ordained bishop on January 29, 1956 by the Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria Markos II Khouzam ; Co- consecrators were Isaac Ghattas , Bishop of Luxor, and Stephanos Sidarouss , Auxiliary Bishop in Alexandria . Youhanna Nueir attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
On March 26, 1965, Youhanna Nueir was elected Bishop of Luxor. He resigned from the administration of the eparchy on March 20, 1990 and died five years later.
