The city museum Bludenz in the upper gate is the museum of the district town Bludenz .
location
The Obere Tor , also called Feldkircher Tor , is located at the western exit of Kirchgasse and Herrengasse. The covered staircase to Laurentiuskirche and Gayenhofen Castle begins right next to it .
City fortifications Upper Gate
The Upper Gate was built in the 4th quarter of the 15th century. built. The three-storey gate with a crippled hipped roof protrudes a little beyond the line of the city wall. The gate is a pointed arch gate, on the upper floor there is a row of shooting windows. The fresco Duke Friedrich V of Austria , who in 1420 confirmed the city freedoms of Bludenz, is by the painter Hubert Fritz from 1948. On the inside of the city is a fresco Archangel Michael fighting with Satan around 1774.
