Servants' House

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As servants' quarters or farmhands are houses , for example, on a farm called, where the servants stayed. Such facilities were only to be found among the wealthy who could also afford the maids and servants . Farm workers who did their work on the farm and were allowed to live in the house for a low rent, or sometimes rent-free, were referred to as "houselands".

In the course of the dying out of servants as a profession, servants' houses also lost their importance, as farmers nowadays increasingly rely on normal workers from the labor market .
