Business lock

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A business lock is a general or individually formulated entry ban for the exercise of commercial activities.

A general trade ban was imposed around April 1933 shortly after the establishment of the authoritarian regime in Austria, it was intended to stop the influx of unemployed people and the overcrowding of self-employed businesses in the times of need of the global economic crisis. Similar restrictive measures were also implemented by other states at the time. The Austrian trade ban was replaced by an amendment to the trade regulations from 1934 and the prohibition law of December 1, 1934. Thereafter, among other things, the examination of local requirements was planned for new openings , a measure that remained in force until 1952.
