Gheorghe Megelea
Gheorghe Megelea (born March 14, 1954 in Reșița ) is a Romanian athlete who was successful as a javelin thrower in the mid-1970s . He won an Olympic bronze medal.
Megelea became Romanian national champions three times in a row:

He won his only international medal at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal . He exceeded the required qualification distance of 79 m with a throw of 80.26 m. In the final he achieved his personal best with 87.16 m, a distance that was only achieved on that day by the Hungarian Miklós Németh , who set a new world record with 94.58 m, and the Finn Hannu Siitonen , who with 87.92 m Silver won, was surpassed.
Megelea, whose best performance in 1975 was 83.64 m, threw an excellent series in Montreal with four throws over 82 m:

In 1977 he used a trip abroad to the UK to break away. Afterwards he moved to Canada.
