Giancarlo Planta

Giancarlo Planta (* 1953 in Cagliari ) is an Italian film director .

Life

Planta was first and foremost a critic and organizer of work shows and exhibitions before he worked as a director of journalistic formats at RAI in the 1980s (his Tolti dalla strada received the “Premio La Navicella” in 1990). His feature film debut was C'è posto per tutti , in which he told the story of Neapolitan unemployed people who paradoxically only find employment on May 1st during the festivities. The following Italia Village was also a social comedy , followed by Onorevoli detenuti from 1998 , the story of an ex-politician sitting in prison. Angelus Hiroshimae was only seen in a few cinemas in 2010 and was shot in L'Aquila in 2007/2008 .
