Giant's Grave (left)

Giant's Grave (also known as "The Spring", "Springhead" or "Robin Hood Dip") is an island in a spring pond on the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall in the old district of "Mill End" of Cherry Hinton , a district of Cambridge in England .

The island is said to be named after the giant Gogmagog , who, according to legend, lived nearby. But the name may also come from some Iron Age burials that, according to the Cherry Hinton Chronicle of 1854, were unearthed on Lime Kiln Hill, where the skeletons were unusually large, and where a Roman villa was excavated in 1980.

The site has been a public park since 1941.
