The Gibbous Rocks (English colloquially for Hunchback Rocks ) are cliff rocks in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . They are 6 km northwest of Cape Belsham off Elephant Island .
Scientists from the British Joint Services Expedition (1970–1971) mapped them. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee gave them their descriptive name on November 3, 1971.
