The Akita - Kishu mixed breed puppy Weed ( ウ ィ ー ド , dt. “Weed”) travels to the legendary dog paradise of Ohu in the Futago Pass (dt. Twin pass) to find his father gin ( , dt. “Silver”) who leads the pack of dogs that rules Ohu. In Ohu he has to fight against the human and dog- eating dog Kaibutsu ( 怪物 , dt. "Monster" / カ イ ブ ツ ), also called P4 , which was a former laboratory experiment. His friend and old fighter Smith dies, but Kaibutsu is also killed.

But they can't look forward to victory for long, because Hōgen, a Danish mastiff, appears. He attacks Gin and his closest confidante, the German shepherd John and the Kishu Akame, and kidnaps them. Weed has many followers, including Kurotora's son Kagetora and Ben's son Ken, but his opponent is also becoming more and more powerful. Finally there is a fight over Gajou, the stone fortress that the bear Akakabuto had created 14 years earlier. Hōgen and Weed hurt each other very badly and Weed almost dies, but suddenly the ghosts of the dead Ohu fighters, including Smith, appear in Weed's field of vision. This orders him to get up. Weed lets out a loud battle cry, uses the Battouga again and Hōgen appears to be defeated, but he is still moving, which is why Gin bites his neck and tries to kill him, but Weed pushes his father aside and explains, that if you killed yourself, you weren't much better than Hōgen. Gin realizes that weed is a better leader than him and hands him the rank of leader. Everyone bows to weed, but Reika, an Akita bitch, notices that Hogen has disappeared. He likes Gajou and laughs, believing himself to be the winner of the fight, but is struck by lightning and dies. Now peace returns to Ohu and Weed is the leader of paradise.
