Giorgio Gabellini

Giorgio Gabellini (* 14. April 1918 in Cesena / Italy ; † 1996 ) was an Italian cartoons - sculptor .

The Italian Giorgio Gabellini began drawing caricatures for various Italian newspapers at the age of 14. From 1966 he transferred this art to sculpture. In 1980 Gabellini was named Caricaturist of the Year at the World Exhibition in Montreal / Canada, which also included an “International Pavilion of Humor”. Gabellini created more than 300 sculptures. On the occasion of a commemorative exhibition in 1998, the website of the City of Cesena said: “His works, attractive and concise, scratchy but never vulgar, are always the result of a happy expression of character, which he gives with an ironic touch of vitality animate knew. ”Even during his lifetime, many exhibitions had shown his works, the most important was probably the one in the White House in Washington .
