Giotto (own spelling GiOTTO ) is a sweet from the Italian company Ferrero . The market launch in Germany took place in 1996.

Surname

The candy is named after the Italian painter and architect Giotto di Bondone . The Campanile del Giotto in Florence , which he built, is shown on the package.

ingredients

It consists of a waffle with hazelnut pieces, which is filled with milk hazelnut cream. According to the company, it contains the following ingredients: hazelnuts (37%), vegetable fats , sugar , wheat flour , skimmed milk powder (7%), sweet whey powder , cocoa mass , emulsifier soy lecithin , salt, vanillin and sodium hydrogen carbonate .

Variations

In the summer months Giotto almond is available, which is made with almond pieces and a milk almond cream instead of hazelnut pieces and milk hazelnut cream. Giotto cocoa has also been available in the winter months since 2013. In summer / winter 2015, the range was expanded to include Giotto Dolcino with lemon flavor and Giotto Cioccolato. The Giotto Caramello variety came onto the market during the summer break of 2017. Giotto Caffé Momenti Cookies & Cream was added in summer 2018, as well as a limited edition Giotto Momenti inspired by Belgian speculoos for the 2018 winter season. The Giotto variety of shortbread was available in stores in 2020.
