Giovanni Ventimiglia

Giovanni Ventimiglia (born July 20, 1964 in Palermo ) is an Italian, Roman Catholic philosopher .

Life

At the Facoltà di Teologia di Lugano he obtained the title of Associate Professor in 2001, the title of Associate Professor in 2003 and the title of Full Professor in 2004. Since 2016 he has been a full professor of philosophy at the University of Lucerne . In 2015 he taught as Visiting Senior Research Fellow at King's College in London and was an Academic Visitor at Oxford University .

Ventimiglia is the founder of the Collegium Philosophicum Luganense and was its director from 2003 to 2017. He is the main editor of the series “Metafisica tomistica e metafisica analitica” and the founder and chairman of the non-profit organization “Pro-filo umano”.

The focus of his research is metaphysics in the philosophy of Plato, Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas and in analytic Thomism .
