Giovanni d'Alemagna
Giovanni d'Alemagna († 1450 ) was a German painter who was mainly active in Italy.
D'Alemagna was artistically active mainly in the last decade of his life, he worked mainly with Antonio Vivarini . Both artists created paintings with religious motifs. Due to the close cooperation, it is hardly possible today in many cases to clearly assign the works to the two artists.
It was found, however, that d'Alemagna made a painting of St. Jerome in 1444 , which particularly stands out from other works by Vivarini due to its decorative style, which was more oriented towards naturalistic standards.
