The Gippsland GA10 Airvan is a multi-purpose transport aircraft from the Australian manufacturer GippsAero .

History and construction

After the successful development of the Gippsland GA8 piston engine , the construction was stretched so that there is now space for ten people. In addition, a turboprop engine was installed, which increased the payload. The GA10 is a stripped high-decker with a non-retractable nose wheel landing gear and a conventional tail unit. The GA10 uses many parts of the GA8, which can reduce production costs. Similar to the GA8, a STOL kit is also to be developed for the GA10. The first 20-minute flight took place on May 1, 2012. Type certification according to the FAR-23 standard is scheduled for mid-2013.
