Gisbert L. Brunner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gisbert Ludwig Brunner (* 1947 in Munich ) is a German watch expert, freelance journalist and author on wristwatches and watch brands.

biography

Growing up in Munich, Brunner first studied law and graduated with the second state examination. He then began a career as a senior administrative employee in the Bavarian Ministry of Culture. In the 1960s, Brunner began collecting high-quality pocket and wristwatches at the same time. This went hand in hand with the content-related preoccupation with the history of clocks and the development and construction of wristwatches. During the quartz watch crisis in the 1970s, the collection grew to over 800 watches. Brunner sold parts of this collection in the course of sales or auctions.

In the early 1980s he began working as an author of specialist articles. This intensive writing activity led to a large number of watch articles and watch books. The digital watch platform Uhrenkosmos was founded in 2018. Gisbert L. Brunner is a co-partner here. The author is also active as a juror in various juries and specialist groups, including the Red Dot Award,
