Quote

“Seeing and recording, idea and execution - has become one for me - it goes incredibly quickly and my picture is over. From this (bird's) perspective, a completely new section is created, which I breathe in air and life and thus make it my picture. At this height I believe I am very close to Heaven - I become a tiny part of the cosmos. Gisela Floto "

“The clearly structured pictures are of great aesthetic quality and are enjoyable to look at. Although the topic does not seem close to the audience at first, the film never gets boring. On the contrary, it makes you want to see more and deal with the topic more intensively and thus arouses a necessary interest. With this film, »Rosi, you did that well«, you have realized a wonderful opportunity to give a selected group a visual mirror by documenting their creative possibilities, their imaginative potential. We are pleased to show this film Abaton-Kino because it is enriching for everyone in an aging society. Werner Grassmann on the film Rosi, you did well "

Appreciation

“Gisela Floto creates“ light images ”according to her own characterization, the camera is only a technical aid to represent the relationship between the observing person and what happened by chance on the beach and tide, the never-ending interplay of light and wind. Only superficially, the choice of motif seems to be random, only the subject is found. However, the impressionistic character of many photographs is only created through the implementation of the inner image under the decisive impression of light and shadow. Reality is no longer of interest in its objective existence, but rather becomes a perceptual phenomenon that is constantly changing when taking pictures of the discoveries. Gisela Floto is a photographer who follows an internal dialogue that precedes implementation through to the finished image. The image expression is also determined by an understanding of aesthetic categories. Her pictures encourage contemplative viewing because the relationship between static and moving picture elements is constantly changing.
