Volker Stein

Volker Stein (* 1966 ) is a German economist .

Life

Stein first completed an apprenticeship as a banker and then studied business administration at the University of Mannheim ( Diplom-Kaufmann 1992). From 1998 to 2002 he was managing director of the Institute for Management Competence (imk) in Saarbrücken . In 1999 he was promoted to Dr. rer. oec. and in 2006 he completed his habilitation with a thesis supervised by Christian Scholz at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken.

Since 2006 he has been a full professor of business administration, in particular human resource management and organization, at the University of Siegen . In 2008 he was a member of the founding board of the Südwestfälische Akademie für Mittelstand. He was visiting professor a. a. in Strasbourg and Saarbrücken. Stein is chairman of the advisory board of the Society for Organization and a member of various organizations such as the Schmalenbach Society for Business Administration and the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration . Since October 1, 2019, he has been a member of the Rectorate of the University of Siegen as Vice-Rector for Resources and Governance.
