Gisela Kittel

Gisela Kittel (born March 13, 1940 in Kleinmachnow ) is a German Protestant Reformed theologian and didactician. From 1971 to 1977 she was a scientific adviser and professor at the Pedagogical University of Westphalia-Lippe, Siegen Department , which became the Siegen University from 1972 , and from 1981 to 2005 professor at Bielefeld University .

Life

In 1958, Kittel graduated from the New Language Girls' High School in Detmold . From 1959 to 1963 she studied Protestant theology at the Church College in Berlin and the Universities of Tübingen and Marburg . From 1966 to 1971 she was a research assistant at the Siegerland University of Education . In 1967 she received her doctorate from the Theological Faculty of the University of Marburg with a thesis on “Election and Judgment. A comparison of prophetic and Pauline knowledge of God ”. In 1971 she qualified as a professor at the Pedagogical University of Westphalia-Lippe , Siegerland department, with the thesis “The Language of Psalms. To develop the Psalms in the classroom ”.

Kittel taught from 1971 to 1977 as a professor for the subject "Protestant theology and its didactics (focus on the Old Testament)" at the Pedagogical University of Westphalia-Lippe, Siegerland department (later: comprehensive university). Then she officiated from 1977 to 1981 as a pastor in the Evangelical Reformed parish in Bad Meinberg . From 1981 to 2005 she taught as a professor for Protestant theology and its didactics (Old and New Testament) at Bielefeld University. In 1992/93 she was on leave to teach at the Theological-Pedagogical Institute of the Evangelical Church of the Church Province of Saxony in Naumburg / Saale to qualify teachers from Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia for the subject of "Protestant religious teaching". After 24 years in the service of Bielefeld University, Gisela Kittel retired on February 4, 2005.

She is the author of various books and scientific publications.
