Gisela Schmeer

Gisela Schmeer (born April 25, 1926 in Berlin ) is a German doctor , psychologist , psychoanalyst , art therapist and writer doctor .

Life

After completing her medical studies in 1949 and psychology in Munich in 1953, she took over the management of the psychosomatic counseling center for children at the University Children's Polyclinic in Munich. Since 1955 she worked as a child psychotherapist, later as a psychotherapist and analyst. From 1980 she was active in medical, psychological and art therapy training. She later received a teaching position at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and since 2005 she has been a professor of art therapy at the Dresden University of Fine Arts .

Together with Edith Kramer and Elisabeth Tomalin, she is considered a pioneer of art therapy in the twentieth century. Her resonance image method is documented in numerous publications and is conveyed in seminars of medical-psychological and art-therapeutic advanced training.
