Giso III.
Giso III. was the successor of Giso II. Gaugraf on the middle Lahn in northern Hesse . It is not clear whether he was the son, brother, or other relative of his predecessor. Reliable information on birth, death and term of office also does not appear to be available.
If he - and not Giso II - was the husband of Countess Mathilde, then he was the father of Giso IV , with whom the possession and influence of the Gison family reached its peak.
