from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gitte, Wencke, Siw - The show was the name of a successful show with which Gitte Hænning , Wencke Myhre and Siw Malmkvist toured Germany from 2004 to 2007. Excerpts from the program were also shown on various television programs . A live CD with excerpts from the program is also available.

The show

"Gitte, Wencke, Siw - The Show" 2005 in Frankfurt

The three artists have in common that they all come from Scandinavia (Gitte Hænning: Denmark, Wencke Myhre: Norway, Siw Malmkvist: Sweden) and have been very successful and well-known not only in their home countries but also in Germany since the early 1960s. Originally the show was only planned as a one-time event, but due to its great success and numerous inquiries, it eventually became the tour program. The idea, the script and the direction come from Hans Marklund , one of the most famous Swedish stage directors. The leader of the backing band was Anders Eljas , Wencke Myhre's partner, who also worked with ABBA .

In 2004, the three of them received the Goldene Stimmgabel (the special platinum award) for their show . In 2007 the three presented a medley of the greatest Scandinavian Grand Prix successes in the German preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest .

After more than three successful years, the three artists decided to end the show, because touring life severely restricted their private life and each wanted to devote themselves to their own projects.
