Giuliana Gamba

Giuliana Gamba (born November 26, 1953 in Pesaro ) is an Italian film director .

Life

Gamba studied film history and was a trainee with Giuseppe Vari in the mid-1970s . She also worked with Memé Perlini at the theater. In 1976 she shot her first film under the pseudonym Peter Skerl , which was followed by three hardcore strips. Gamba was the first female director in this profession. 1986 followed, still with erotic material, Profumo based on his own script and in 1988 La cintura based on Alberto Moravia . Gamba then turned to documentary film; At the end of the 1990s she was shooting fictional material again for television. In the new millennium she switched back and forth between these two forms of film.

Gamba is co-organizer of the Pesaro Film Festival (“Mostra Internazionale del Nuovo Cinema”).
