history
The stadium was opened in 1954 under the name Sportpark De Langeleegte . The facility takes its name from the road on which it is located. Langeleegte is in the German language translated "Long Empty" . In 1998 the stadium underwent a major renovation. Today the venue consists of two grandstands that are about three meters higher along the playing field and two ground-level stands behind the goal. Behind the main grandstand in the south is an extension that was intended to look after the sponsors and VIP guests. There are 6,500 covered seats across the four auditoriums. The guest fans found space behind the gate in the west.
The home games of the amateur club VV Veendam 1894 are currently taking place here.
