Glückauf Tower (Oelsnitz)
The Glückaufturm is a steel framework construction in the town of Oelsnitz in the Ore Mountains of unusual design. It stands on the dump of the Germany shaft , a former coal mine , at an altitude of 487 m above sea level. NHN .
The Glückaufturm, built in 2000, is 36 meters high. It was designed by the architects Bernd Sikora in Leipzig and built by the company Stahlbau Weischlitz. The building owner of the tower was the city of Oelsnitz / Erzgeb. Construction began on June 21, 2000, and the inauguration took place on November 21 of the same year. The weight of the tower structure is 81.7 tons and the volume of the concrete foundations is 62.3 cubic meters.
