The Glade Creek Grist Mill is a working historic mill in Babcock State Park , Danese , West Virginia . It was reconstructed from three existing historical mills in 1976.

history

The basic structure comes from the Stoney Creek Grist Mill, built in 1890 near Campbelltown in Pocahontas County . It was dismantled there and rebuilt in Babcock State Park. The water wheel comes from the Run Grist Mill in Petersburg in Grant County . The mill was completely destroyed in a fire. Only the water wheel could be saved undamaged. All missing parts come from the Onego Grist Mill of Seneca Rocks in Pendleton County .

The Glade Creek Grist Mill was built to replace the now defunct Cooper's Mill .

The Glade Creek Grist Mill has been fully operational since its completion in 1976. It is still used today to grind corn and buckwheat and sell the flour to tourists in the park.
