Stained Glass Dor

The stained glass Dor existed since the 17th century in Paris and it is an existing over several generations of family dynasty developed glass painters .

Not much is known about the Dor family's first glass painters. In the second half of the 17th century Charles and Gaston Dor are mentioned.

Jean François Dor

He continued the family tradition of stained glass and married Marie Élisabeth Leleu on July 22, 1714. Windows in the monastery of the Discalced Carmelites in Paris are known to us from his work . His son Louis took over the workshop.

Louis Dor († 1784)

Louis Dor married Jeanne Marguerite Scot, daughter of the glass painter Jean Pierre Scot, on June 12, 1757.

Jean Louis Dor

Jean Louis, whose exact ancestry is unknown, attended, like other members of his family, the Collège des Quatre Nations and then became a glass painter. He became known as an employee of the Musée des Monuments français .
