The Glawnoje Uprawlenije Ochrany ( GUO ; Russian Главное управление охраны, ГУО ) was a Russian secret service. He emerged from the administration of the Bunker facilities of the KGB and worked in the early 1990s as the main protection department under the leadership of General Mikhail Barsukov .

He was subordinate to 22,000 men who were responsible for securing important objects, for example the Moscow Kremlin , the government's alternative quarters and the more than 20 km² underground facilities under Moscow , which were formerly built to protect over 30,000 members of the leadership of the Soviet Union. The GUO was also responsible for securing defense operations, preventing sabotage and controlling arms exports.
