As a front page in multi-page printed products such as are newspapers , magazines or books referred to the respective right sides. In the case of fonts with a left-hand writing direction that are read from right to left, the opposite is true.

With usual page numbering, these are the pages with odd page numbers. According to studies, the front page in newspapers or magazines is perceived as the first and more intensely than the opposite, left-hand side. This is just as important for editorial offices as it is for advertising customers. Because of this, advertisements on front pages usually receive a financial premium.
