Uniform expansion

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the tensile test, the uniform elongation is the plastic change in length related to the initial measurement length when the tensile specimen is loaded with the maximum force ; this is usually achieved with the tensile strength . The uniform elongation indicates that the tensile specimen does not constrict up to the maximum force , but rather stretches evenly.

The tensile test for metallic materials is a  standardized material testing method according to DIN EN ISO 6892 .
