After expansion in 2013, the distillery has a mash tun ( 7.5 tonnes) made of stainless steel and ten fermentation vats (wash backs) (39,600 l each), also made of stainless steel. Distillation takes place in three wash stills (9,900 l each) and three spirit stills (5,800 l each), which are heated by steam. A total of eight wash stills and eight spirit stills have been used since 2015 .

Bottlings

Glen Moray is number 5 single malt in the UK. As original bottling, there were some single malts with an age of eight (so-called "Classic"), 12, 16 and 30 years. There were also three original bottlings with special wood finishings: a 12-year-old and a 16-year-old Chenin Blanc and a Chardonnay with no age information.

Four product lines have been developed since 2016, which replaced the earlier bottlings:

  • Elgin Classic: with Classic Single Malt (aged for around 7 years in Burbon barrels), Classic Peated Single Malt, Classic Sherry Cask Finish, Classic Port Cask Finish and Classic Chardonnay Cask Finish (each without any age information; first matured in Burbon barrels, then for some time in the respective sherry, port or Chardonnay barrels)
  • Elgin Heritage (higher quality whiskeys in four different ages): 10 years "Fire Oak" (matured in strongly carbonated casks), 12 years (Bourbon casks), 15 years (Bourbon and sherry cask maturation) and 18 years ("first fill American oak "barrel)
  • Elgin Reserve with changing bottlings. After a 25-year port cask finish, a single malt Chardonnay finish will be available at the end of 2019.
  • Elgin Prestige: "Glen Moray Mastery", a blend of different grades and barrel types. The oldest whiskey used dates from 1970.

In addition, a changing "Distillery Selection" from different barrels, z. B. Burgundy offered.
