GlobalSign is a certification authority (CA) and identity services provider certified by WebTrust.

GlobalSign was founded in 1996 and is part of the GMO CLOUD KK in Japan. The company offers a wide range of identity services solutions.

Products & Services

GlobalSign is a provider of services related to PKI and Identity & Access Management. The services enable customers to create secure e-services, manage employee and external identities and automate PKI implementations for users and various devices.

GlobalSign's Identity & Access Management portfolio consists of access control, single sign-on (SSO), federation and delegation services.

With GlobalSign's PKI services, SSL-secured transactions can be carried out, data transferred, unchangeable code distributed and online identities protected for secure e-mail communication and access control. GlobalSign's PKI offering also includes a Trusted Root program. Here, trusted public key infrastructure projects are linked with the widespread and trusted GlobalSign Root CA certificate in order to link the subordinate root for Microsoft CAs or internal CAs with the CA root. Such links mean that non-commercial CAs can control their own internal PKI and thus issue SSL certificates and digital IDs. GlobalSign's services can be used for the Internet of Things (IoT). For this, an identity that can be managed must be provided for each device. The company has offices in Europe, the United States and Asia.

takeover

In 2014, GlobalSign acquired Ubisecure Solutions, Inc. (Helsinki), a privately held company that develops identity & access management software. The acquisition allows GlobalSign to strategically focus on identity services. Ubisecure is a provider in Access Management & Federation. Ubisecure's access control, single sign-on (SSO), federation and delegation services are used by government organizations, financial institutions and companies in Europe and are provided with the help of strategic partners.

GlobalSign is a founding member of the CA / Browser Forum , a voluntary association of certification authorities and providers of browsers, operating systems and other PKI applications. GlobalSign is a founding member of the Kantara Initiative and the Certificate Authority Security Council , a group of diverse vendors and advocates to test and promote cyber security standards and educate the public on cyber security issues. GlobalSign has been certified as Web Compliant by the Online Trust Authority (OTA) since 2001 .
