The cellar bell foundry in Unterstrass near Zurich existed from 1832 to 1894. It produced over 800 bells, many of them for churches in the Zurich area.

history

The company was founded by Jakob Keller (1793–1867) from Andelfingen . He had trained as a mechanic at J. Sulzer in Winterthur and from 1817 was employed by the Escher machine factory in Neumühle. After acquiring the necessary knowledge in Bern, he cast his first bell at Escher. In 1825 he started his own business in Unterstrass. After his death, his son J. Heinrich Keller (1827–1894) continued the company. After his death the business was stopped.
