Glucosides

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Glucoside refers to a group of organic substances in which an alcohol or phenol (R-OH) via a glycosidic linkage to glucose is bound. It is therefore a subgroup of the glycosides . Glucosides split off glucose on hydrolysis . Examples of glucosides are e.g. B. amygdalin and sucrose . Some industrially important sugar surfactants - such as alkyl polyglycosides - are glucosides.
