God Macabre was a death metal band from Valberg , Sweden . They are considered to be one of the most important bands in the Swedish death metal scene in the early 1990s.
Band history
The band was founded in 1988 as a Grindcore band under the name Botten På Burken and shortly thereafter changed its name to Macabre End . The only demo was re-released as an EP a year after it was released. In 1991 the band renamed itself God Macabre and received a recording contract with the German music label M.BR Records , which also released the only album "The Winterlong". A short time later the band broke up. The album was re-released in 2002 by Relapse Records .
