Golden Sunday

The following days are referred to as Golden Sunday :

  • Trinitatis (also Holy Trinity - Christian holiday)
  • Goldener Sonntag (athletics) (day on which West German athletes won three gold medals at the 1972 Olympic Games)
  • A shopping Sunday in Austria until the 1960s (4th Advent)
  • In Germany, the last Sunday in Advent is referred to as the "golden Sunday", as "experience shows that it brings the stores the highest turnover during the Christmas season".
  • The "Golden Sunday" used to be called every Sunday, after a quarter ; he was considered "especially happy. Children born on such a Sunday should have the skills attributed to the" Sunday children "to a higher degree".
