Golwé locomotive

A Golwé locomotive is a steam locomotive with two movable motor bogies. The main frame took cab and boiler on. The front motor bogie was run under the long boiler in the manner of Meyer or Mallet locomotives . The main frame rested on the rear bogie in the manner of a Garratt locomotive . As with this one, the rear bogie also carried the fuel and water supply.

This type of locomotive was developed at the Belgian locomotive factory Haine-Saint-Pierre by operations director Goldschmidt and chief engineer Weber. The locomotive designation is derived from the two surnames. These vehicles were first delivered to the Ivory Coast railroad in 1928 .
