Gomi Kosuke
Gomi Kōsuke (aka Gomi Yasusuke , 五味 康祐; * December 20, 1921 in Ōsaka ; † April 1, 1980 ) was a Japanese writer.
Gomi studied literature at Meiji University . During his army service in World War II, he met the writer Yasuda Yojūrō , who encouraged him to write historical novels.
After the war he emerged as the author of popular swordsman novels ( kengō shōsetsu ). For Sōshin he received the Akutagawa Prize in 1952 . Other successful novels were Yagyū Ren'yasai (1955) and Futari no Musashi (1956–57). Together with Shibata Renzaburō he wrote Kyōshirō burai hikae (1956) and Akai kageboshi (1960). He was also known as a music critic and essayist.
