Gonioctena olivacea is a beetle fromthe leaf beetle family (Chrysomelidae).

description

The beetles have a body length of 3–5 mm. The head and pronotum are reddish, the elytra are yellow. The latter have a black seam and a dark stripe on the shoulder bulge. Several rows of dots run over the wing covers.

distribution

The distribution area of Gonioctena olivacea extends from the Iberian Peninsula to Central Europe and the British Isles.

Way of life

The host plants of the beetle species include, in addition to the broom broom ( Cytisus scoparius ), related broom species. The species forms one generation per year. The adult beetles fly from May. The beetles are most common in late July / early August.
