Gonzalo Papa , full name Gonzalo Sebastián Papa Palleiro , (born May 8, 1989 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Depending on the sources, the 1.74 meters or 1.78 meters tall midfielder Papa has been part of the squad of the Uruguayan first division club Centro Atlético Fénix since the Apertura 2009 . In the 2009/10 season he ran 18 times (no goal) in the Primera División . In the four following seasons, 102 further premier league appearances for the Montevideans followed, in which he scored twice in the opposing goal (2010/11: 25 games (0 goals); 2011/12: 28 (1); 2012/13 : 25 (1) ; 2013/14: 24 (0)). He was also set up in two matches (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana . In the 2014/15 season he was used 26 times (one goal) in the top Uruguayan league. This was followed by seven more top division games (no goal) with his participation in Apertura 2015. In early February 2016, he joined Arsenal de Sarandí on loan . So far (as of July 16, 2017) he has made 23 league appearances with the Argentines (no goal).

National team

Papa took part with the Pan America selection (U-22) of Uruguay in the Pan American Games 2011 in Mexico . There he won the bronze medal with the team and contributed to it with four international appearances (no goal).
