Good parliament
The English parliament convened in 1376 is referred to as the Good Parliament ( English Good Parliament ; [ guːd ˈpaləmənt ]) . This year, the House of Commons , presented by Sir Peter de la Mare as the first speaker , complained of inefficiency, excessive taxes and their waste in the war against France . As a result, advisors to the king came to court and new advisors were appointed. Nevertheless, the resolutions of the “Good Parliament” were repealed in the same year and a more docile parliament called in 1377, which became known as the “Bad Parliament”.
