The Google Notebook , originally called Google Notebook , was an online service from Google Inc. The service could be used as a web application and via a Firefox extension .

The further development of the service and the creation of new users were discontinued in January 2009. In 2011, the service was completely shut down, and all of the users' notes that were still there were exported to Google Docs .

Web application

A user could create short notes, his own texts, but also information and links in the Google Notebook. In order to organize the information, you could create any number of notebooks that were linked to the Google account required for this. The notebook could either be accessed via the corresponding page or integrated into the personalized iGoogle start page .

Firefox extension

An extension was available in Google Labs for the Firefox web browser , with which you could add texts via the context menu or corresponding links on the Google search results page.
