Gorkha (beer)
Gorkha is a beer brand produced in Nepal by Gorkha Brewery Ltd. is brewed. The premium brand was introduced in 2006 and is now exported worldwide as a beer specialty. The alcohol content is 5.5% by volume. The name is derived from the Gurkha (also Gorkha) ethnic group or from their ancestral settlement area, the Gorkha district with the capital Gorkha .
The Gorkha Brewery belongs to the Danish Carlsberg Brewery Group and was founded in 1989 as a joint venture with the Nepalese Kheta Group in Mukundapur in the Nawalparasi (district) .
