Gos (unit)

Gos , also Gau , was an East Indian measure of length in Coromandel . It belonged to the mile measure, and the eleven times the mile measure corresponded to 1 degree on the equator.

  • 1 Gos = 1 1/11 miles (geographical) = 10,100 meters = 1 mile (German)

Gos was also measured in steps .

  • 1 Gos = about 4500 to 5000 geometric steps
