Gotfridus van der Krempen

Gotfridus van der Krempen , also de Crempa (* probably in Krempe ; † September 16 in Lübeck ) was council secretary of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck and canon of Lübeck .

Life

The Magister Gotfridus van der Kempen initially worked as a university notary at the University of Prague . As council secretary he was employed in the chancellery of the Lübeck council from 1384 to 1407. Entries can be found in the Lübeck Niederstadtbuch and in the Oberstadtbuch until the end of 1407. The Lübeck council referred to him in 1402 as an oversten scriver, i.e. first councilor. Gotfridus van der Krempen became canon in Lübeck at an unknown date and died as such before the middle of the 15th century. He was buried in Lübeck Cathedral , where his figure grave slab in the south of the ambulatory is documented but not preserved.
