Gouin (ethnicity)

The Gouin (also Guin , Kpen , Mbwen ) are an ethnic group from West Africa . The Gouin mainly populate the north of the Ivory Coast and the southwest of Burkina Faso . They speak a Niger-Congo language and are closely related to the Senufo . Around 100,000 people belong to the ethnic group (as of 2005).

The Gouin traditionally live from cattle breeding and the cultivation of millet , cassava and yams .
