Goverlan Reach is remote control software for computers developed by Goverlan, Inc. With this software you can control the computers remotely in "silent" mode (background) without interrupting the work of the user. Features such as viewing system information, installing and uninstalling programs, running scripts, transferring files, installing updates, and so on are available. Most actions can be performed on a group of computers or users.

It also supports remote desktop access using RDP, VNC and proprietary protocols. With the proprietary protocol you can adjust the quality of the desktop picture, control the keyboard and mouse, transfer the sound from a remote computer, communicate with a remote user via the voice connection and text chat and activate the “curtain mode”. With VNC support, you can control systems based on the macOS and Linux operating systems .

development

The idea for developing this software product came from Pascal Bergeot (CEO and founder of Goverlan, Inc.) when he was working in technical support at one of the most important financial institutions on Wall Street . The full understanding of what the product should be came about in 1996. And then in 1998 the first commercial version was released.

particularities

Goverlan Reach consists of three parts: Goverlan Reach Console, Goverlan Reach Client and Goverlan Reach Server.

Goverlan Reach Console is installed on computers that will be used for remote control. This component includes an administrative console and a remote desktop access application. The console performs management in "quiet" mode (background) without interrupting the user's work, while performing complex operations on groups of computers. Again, the remote control application can connect to the desktop using a proprietary protocol if the Goverlan Reach Client is installed on the remote computers. It is also possible to connect to computers that support these protocols via the RDP and VNC. You can also manage MacOS and Linux- based computers in this way. The desktop thumbnails of all connections can be displayed in real time in the preview area.

Goverlan Reach Client is installed on the remote computer. This agent supports two modes of operation: as an "unsupervised" access service and as an application to assist a user. In the first case, the agent can be installed remotely. To do this, you have to have the C $ and IPC $ open for the administrators and be in the local network.

Goverlan Reach Server is required for the central distribution of settings (policies) and the registration of network events. It also contains Goverlan Reach Gateway Server, with which one can manage the computers outside the local network. This component is optional.

safety

Goverlan Reach supports NTLM and Kerberos authentication. All data transmitted over the network is encrypted using the TLS protocol and (or) AES encryption algorithm.
