The car had a 6-cylinder in-line engine installed at the front, which drove the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. It developed 70 hp (51 kW) at 2500 rpm and helped the car to a top speed of 100 km / h. In 1934 a revised version appeared, the Gräf & Stift SP 6 . Its engine of the same size developed 85 hp (62.5 kW) at 3200 rpm. and accelerated the vehicle up to 110 km / h. SP 5 and SP 6 were built around 500 times. From 1927 the Gräf & Stift SP 7 was offered on the same chassis . It too had a 6-cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft, the displacement of which, however, at 7.1 liters, almost reached the level of the SR series. It developed 120 hp (88 kW) at 2800 rpm. and accelerated the 2.2 t car up to 125 km / h. Only about 50 copies of the large SP 7 were made. From 1930 the engines with overhead camshafts were offered as 8-cylinders. The Gräf & Stift SP 8 had the 6-liter version with 125 hp (92 kW) at 3000 rpm, which accelerated the 2.5-ton truck to up to 120 km / h. Only 30 of the SP8 were produced. This model was presented in 1937 as the revised Gräf & Stift SP 9 , which even reached a top speed of 130 km / h. When production of the large 8-cylinder was stopped in 1938, around 400 cars had been built.
